Return & Refund Policy

This policy explains when refunds are eligible, how disputes are handled, and what timelines apply for Expecto orders.

1. Nature of Service

Expecto facilitates food ordering and order coordination between customers and participating stalls. Since food is perishable, completed food orders are generally not returnable once prepared or delivered.

2. Eligible Refund Scenarios

  • Order paid successfully but not accepted by stall within a reasonable processing window.
  • Order cancelled by stall after payment.
  • Item is unavailable and no acceptable replacement is approved by customer.
  • Wrong item delivered, materially missing items, or duplicate charge confirmed by records.
  • Delivery failure directly attributable to stall/scout platform process and not customer unavailability.

3. Non-Refund Scenarios

  • Incorrect delivery details, wrong drop spot, or customer unreachable at delivery handoff stage.
  • Change of mind after order preparation has started.
  • Delay caused by force majeure events such as severe weather, network outage, or campus restrictions.
  • Minor taste preference differences where order matches item description and customization submitted.

4. Cancellation Rules

  • Customer may cancel only before stall marks order as accepted/preparing.
  • Once preparation starts, cancellation may be restricted because ingredients and labor are committed.
  • For scout-delivery orders, cancellation after dispatch may attract partial deduction if actual delivery cost is incurred.

5. Refund Method and Timeline

  • Approved refunds are issued to original payment source (UPI/account route) wherever technically feasible.
  • Internal approval target: within 24-48 working hours from complete complaint submission.
  • Bank/UPI settlement timeline may vary by payment network, usually 3-7 business days after approval.

6. How to Raise a Refund Request

Share order code, issue summary, and relevant proof (if available) by contacting the official support channel below. Requests should be raised as early as possible, ideally within 24 hours of order completion.
